When/Why do I need to reset my tablet?

Resetting your tablet may be required when you tablet becomes unresponsive and it is not possible to shut it down through the operating system or even by holding down the power button, the last resort would be to "reset" your tablet.

When/Why do I need to reset my keyboard?

If you have a tablet with a dual battery your keyboard may sometimes not be recognized by the tablet and will not charge or the tablet will be unable to consume the battery in the keyboard. In some cases it may also help with strange keyboard problems such as keys not functioning, resetting your keyboard may help with these issue.


Bellow are some articles to assist with resetting your tablet/keyboard for the computers IT Services support. Failing a reset of both the keyboard and tablet your issue is most likely related to a hardware fault which will need to be sent out for a repair by third party which we will organise.

Resetting X30T Tablet (Cohort 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025)

Open your laptop up so its the same orientation as below.

Flip laptop so the left side is up.


Place a paperclip in the hole under power button and gently pull the paperclip downwards and you should feel a click. Please do not force the paperclip in the hole as it may be too large. 


Resetting X30T Keyboard (Cohort 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025)

Flip your keyboard as displayed below and take note of the small hole circled in red.

      


Place a paperclip in the hole and gently pull the paperclip downwards and you should feel a click. Please do not force the paperclip in the hole as it may be too large. 

      


Resetting Z20T Tablet (Cohort 2020, 2023)

Open your laptop up so its the same orientation as below.

Flip laptop so the right side is up.

Place a paperclip in the hole under power button and gently pull the paperclip downwards and you should feel a click. Please do not force the paperclip in the hole as it may be too large. 

Resetting Z20T Keyboard (Cohort 2020, 2023)

Flip your keyboard as displayed below and take note of the small hole circled in red.

Place a paperclip in the hole and gently pull the paperclip downwards and you should feel a click. Please do not force the paperclip in the hole as it may be too large. 


Alternatively you can use a sim card removal tool from an iPhone.
